As the download contains a split archive, please make sure to download all files to be able to extract the videos.

This is part one of a tutorial for beginners on how to model hard surface details with subdivisions (HyperNurbs) in Cinema 4D and covers the modeling of the outer frame of a scifi-style blast door. The blast door was inspired by a model by Mohamed Rotab.

Topics covered in the tutorial:
- modeling the basic shape
- preparing the geometry for adding details
- modeling the details into the geometry of the outer frame
- building a clean mesh

Requirements:
- Cinema 4D R14 or R13 (Prime to Studio). Some functions and tools shown in the videos may not be available in versions prior to R13.
- Two free plugins: Kyama Slide (http://skinprops.com/kyamaslide.php) and Selections Suppletives (http://code.vonc.fr/?a=23)
- a basic knowledge of Cinema 4D

Modeling a Rib Vault Type Ceiling

This video is a quick tip showing how to model a rib vault type ceiling in Cinema 4D R13. It was inspired by a 3D model I found on the Internet as well as by the Residenz in Munich, Germany, which is a vast building complex that has a number of colonnades with ceilings like the one I'm building in the tutorial.

Requirements: C4D R13 Prime.

Please note that a basic knowledge of Cinema 4D is required to be able to follow this tutorial. While the modeling as such is pretty basic and I do explain everything I'm doing step by step, I'm using both default and custom shortcuts for most of the modeling.

Enjoy!

It can take a lot of rendering time, textures are too flat and you can't achieve really plastic and natural look. Maybe you think it´s really hard task to do something like this. That´s not true. It will be really very easy and effective. We will learn how strong Formula spline and Xpresso can be in many simple, but powerful tasks and Mograph Cloner object. We will demonstrate Surface deformer and Connect object as well. It´s a complex task, but it will be very easy...

Are you looking for good textures or samples and you are not able to find any? No problem. You can make them directly in CINEMA 4D using many ways. almost Every flat texture is very easy to do in CINEMA 4D (can be easily done in Cinema4D). In case you are capable of doing simple model, it´s only couple of steps to get fantastic textures. Without baking, in couple seconds.

We will see how we can transform pebbles model/scene to interesting textures and perfect materials. We will not use baking, we will only render the scene and it will only take couple seconds . We will get color texture, height layer, diffusion layer and normal map...

File contains two examples. Second one describes how to get textures and material of gutter tiles model.

A solution for your animations and architecture visualisation? Something what can be very easily adjusted? I have a solution for you. In this tutorial I'll show you a way how can you use the Time node and transform it to the analog clock object. You will have many nice options there, in initial time, you will be able to multiply the speed up or down, time will go back as well. We will create really complex solution in couple minutes only.
